Wanted to start this asking who is the most courageous American ever?

In my opinion, and hands down it is George Washington. The man held together a destitute army that lost battle after battle during a very cold winter at Valley Forge. But because of this army, we are a nation today. George Washington held made this happen.
During the French and Indian War, he escaped without injury with bullet holes in his coat, and hat! After all that, he wanted to retire, but instead, he became the first president of the United States and set a precedent of constitutional governance. This is my choice of who I know of. Otherwise it could have been nearly anyone killed in any one of our country's wars. -------------------- The government works for me. I do not answer to them; they answer to me!
