I wasn't certain if I should put this here or in Our Laws, since it involves both....or maybe just toss it into the Current Events section.

Anyway, I saw this article and found it very interesting. It sounds like political grandstanding to me, but even so, the concept is unusual and worth discussing. Are death penalty cases just too expensive?

I am definitely strongly for the death penalty in many cases. It seems crazy that it should cost so much. There must be some way to greatly reduce that cost. I wonder how much of that is wasted in beaurocratic red tape. Also, does it take into account the cost of housing, feeding, and medicating a person for the rest of their life? Or the cost of the employees paid to watch them, etc.? Interesting article though. Thanks for posting it.

Ya know, if anyone really wanted to make comparisons, this couldn't even compare to anything Obama has or wants to do.
