Full Version: FIREPROOF - THE MOVIE
Crusader
I know this isn't the section for movies, but I feel this is important.

For anyone having marriage problems, watch the movie Fireproof.
It is a Christian film, but even if you aren't a Christian or believe in God watch it with your spouse, if possible. If you are serious about saving your marriage you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Even if your marriage fails, you have the opportunity to become better as an individual. I am speaking from experience.

God Bless

I have an issue with Kirk Cameron, so I won't watch it....but since I'm not married, that's ok smile.gif

The book Lovedare is available. I have a copy and my wife and I pull them on each other randomly. Its fun and the film is very nicely done.
Montro, check out the movie Facing the Giants if you like football. It is by the same guys that made Fireproof.

Never mind.

Why you say never mind Crusader? Say what you think and feel.

Since you experienced this, what did the movie do for you? Did it make you think in a more positive way or negative?

It made me examine myself and my behavior towards my wife and God. I learned they are not mutually exclusive. I found how I took my wife for granted, didn't always listen to what she had to say, and depended on her too much when it was my responsibility. I wasn't there when she needed a man to lean on not a baby who depended on her all the time. It also made me look at my relationship with God and how I ignored him, didn't listen when he spoke to me, and was my concerned with myself. I treated God and my wife the same way. He let me to my own devices to shock me back into reality. I am trying to get my wife back by making myself a better person and man. I also have begun the process of returning to God. I'm going to service this Sunday. He gave me the invitation through a person I met at Wal Mart. God is moving in my life. Praise Him!!!

If you know all that Crusader, you are much more closer to healing regardless of how things go. God is there.

I understand what you are going through, Crusader. My wife of nearly 31 years and I nearly parted company a couple of years ago and my life has turned around because of my relationship with God. Maybe her battle with breast cancer did a bit to change my feelings about her. We are now closer than we ever have been.
