Full Version: Cash for Clunkers?
GinaGirl81
What is the real story on this government deal? I mean, the media keeps saying how much of a success this program is, and I question that.
dragon
Not enough money was allocated for the program -- the money is already gone.
McPrez
They will be allotting more money for this program though. It is a government take over plan.
Mad_Italian
This bill awaits the Senates approval for more money. I think it will happen.
LIBERATOR
This is a good thing overall
McPrez
Many of these clunkers are being re-sold by the dealerships. So much for the environment cry.

It is true, a person can trade in their clunker for a Hummer, no $hit.
Crusader
This program perpetuates the spurious theory of man's actions leading to global warming, depleting the earth of fossil fuels, and continual pollution of the air and water by Americans. It's nothing but a bunch of bull debris. ohmy.gif

Let's see now,....

Two government owned auto makers that "desperately" needed bail-out money, and cash for clunkers money? Money that the government does not have? Trade in for a Hummer? Putting the "clunkers" back on the road? Is anyone really making "real" money here? I think it is just a tax justification.

GinaGirl81
I agree, but with all this town-hall stuff I no longer care about C for C.
Alucard
Cash for clunkers is a hidden bailout for the auto makers...

The people would not stand for another bailout so they threw them 3 billion in bailouts through this program...

The result will be ...

two years from now when new cars are getting 175 miles per gallon... The American people who got suckerd by this program will be stuck with 6 year loans on obsolete 28mpg gaspigs with a bluebook value thousands under their oustanding loan debts...

This is a wolf in sheeps clothing for your wallet...
Detmurds
Good post Alucard, ....imagine, this cash for clunkers is a bail out as you said,...and the government bailed out two automakers with this program that has already been bailed out?

Like I heard on the news last night,......Fed Ex, and UPS are doing great these days,..it is the Government run United States Postal Service that is sucking.

....and they want to run insurance, health care, and the auto industry? ...right
Detmurds
Here is more news on C for C!

Many of the auto dealers have not received their money from the government yet, and some problems come with the process. Let's keep an eye on this.
MAKEMDEAD
It is being said that the applications that dealerships must fill out are long and hideous. Imagine being a dealer, you fill this app out and the cash for clunkers money is denied! It is happening according to some news I heard.
McPrez
The biggest winner in the thing that ends on Monday is the Japanese auto makers! A company owned by Japanese people are getting this stimulus from our country!

Also, did anyone hear about Obama helping Brazil drill for oil? Why not here? F-head he is.
Detmurds
You see McPrez, Obama is campaigning still, being President is not enough, he wants to be the first leader of the New World Order! He must get support from other countries any way he can. Hey, didn't Hitler continue a campaign after taking control of Germany?? Hmmm?

Thank GOD, this plan ends today,...now let's see the auto dealers wait for their payments from the government.

GM, and Chrysler,....you are government owned, go ahead and pay yourselves! laugh.gif

More news.....Refrigerators for cash is next starting in the fall. A $50 to $200 government incentive to buy Energy Star qualified appliances.

Look at what he's doing. Using our tax dollars to help buy specific things. Why not just lower income and business taxes and loosen unecessary business regulations and we would have the money to buy what we want stimulating the economy.

The way he's doing this is the government steering you to buy specific things. You only have a choice in product manufacturer not products.

Erosion of freedom done incrementally.

This guy is in the wrong field, he should be a magician with all the sleight of hand going on.

I wonder if the Obama-backing General Electric had anything to do with that?

I will no longer purchase any GE appliances! They own NBC, they are in ka-hootz with Obama, and they are a bunch of dirty libtards.

As for the Cash for Clunkers waste,....the auto industry is going to suffer now,..nobody will be buying cars now that this plan is gone. How STUPID of our government!

OUR GOVERNMENT is now offering $15,000.00 buy outs to employees in an effort to cut costs at a time when the post office is being buffeted by the recession and the popularity of e-mail and electronic bill payment.
Up to 30,000 employees could take the offer at a total cost of about $450 million, the agency said Tuesday. The post office said it could save as much as $500 million in the next two years. I don't see FEDEX, or UPS doing this? Why?
McPrez
Meanwhile they tell us that their spending projection is a little more than anticipated, oh, just a little TWO TRILLION DOLLARS OVER! mad.gif
