Full Version: HBO's "RECOUNT" MOVIE
Detmurds
Actor Kevin Spacey, who stars as Al Gore adviser Ron Klain in HBO's Sunday night Recount film about the 2000 post-election battle in Florida, conceded on Wednesday's Countdown on MSNBC that “the movie is done from the Democratic point of view.” That matches the observation of Entertainment Weekly magazine reviewer Gillian Flynn: “Recount is an underdog story, and thus a Democrat story.”

I ask why they must cram this crap in our faces when the MSM does it already with their make believe stories?

How is that 'crammed in our faces'? It's a movie on an entertainment network. It's not as though HBO is a news network smile.gif And it's not as though anyone is forced to watch it.

Well, it is already in our faces with CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, and MSNBC which are all sources of news. They alone have ignored truths, and feel good stories in our Iraq War! Why must "entertainment" tell a untrue story of something in America's history? I feel they are trying to mislead their viewers in the showing of this movie. However,...it is a free world, ....and they can do it. BUT,.....remember when ABC showed that special in regards to Bill Clinton and WTC? Remember how the Dems made a stink and had the original movie altered because it would mislead it's viewers (in the opinion of the Dems)? I guess if a bunch of Republicans started crying about it they might alter the movie too? .......Not a chance!

Some things are not fair

I vaguely recall that Det, and I think disagreed with that too. And I think I've pointed out before that I disagree with the idea that all news other than fox news is dishonest and biased. I'm know I've seen bias in fox before as well, and I don't doubt that most, if not all, networks have used dishonest reporting.

I can't speak for this movie though, I haven't seen it and have no idea if it's got truth or lies.

It doesn't matter anyhow,..HBO is nothing without the Sapranos

Yes, just another example of how the media controls the people. I bet they will call this a "based on true story" movie too. Something I am waiting for is the very wonderful stories of this current Iraq War. There are plenty that could win the top awards. Well, that is if we had actors that could act. Movies today stink.

You know DET, the media has set out to hang Bush ever since he sicked the FCC on them. They have an agenda.

It's politics 101. You piss off the media they will go after you. That is why they have painted everything he does as negative.

That is my theory..

Exactly! Good point there B-man.

Here is the truth on the "RECOUNT",....and please disregard the stupid movie!

Although the left-leaning Florida Supreme Court improperly attempted to aid Al Gore in illegally recounting votes in select Democrat precincts, their judicial activist ruling was overturned 7-2 by the Supreme Court and nullified

Bush got more votes in Florida on election night, following the automatic recount and after all absentee ballots were counted. Seven media publications, including USA Today (which is hardly a rightward-leaning newspaper), sponsored recounts and determined that, under any proposed standard of methodology, Bush won every recount.

There was never any proof or evidence of illegal voter "disenfranchised," black turnout nationwide shattered all previous records. In Florida, blacks comprised a larger percentage of the voter pool than of the total population of the state. Blacks, polls were kept open past the 7p.m. closing. Voter turnout reached 100% in some precincts.

It was Al Gore and the Dems who attempted to "steal" the election by hand picking heavily populated areas, which were heavily Democrat precincts for...... recounts. He also tried to throw out the absentee ballots of those in the military,...which tends to by primarily Republican votes! Dem Party operatives issued a 5 page memo which detailed in depth how to disqualify military ballots! Gore said he wanted "every vote to count." Which was a big fat lie!

In the end, it was the Dems who were guilty of the very ethical violations they themselves accused Republicans of committing.

In June 2001, the US Commission on Civil Rights issued a report which found no evidence of voter intimidation, no evidence of voter harassment and no evidence of intentional or systematic disenfranchisement of black voters. This commission, which was headed by overtly-partisan Democrat Mary Francis Berry, found "no basis for the contention that officials conspired to disenfranchise black voters."

Another separate investigation was conducted by the justice Dept's Civil Rights Division and concluded, "The Civil Rights Div found no credible evidence in our investigations that Floridians were intentionally denied their right to vote during the Nov election".

Even prominent liberal Democrats have stated publicly Dems engaged in highly suspect political means to win the 2000 election.

Democrat Pat Caddell (go ahead and google his name!) said, "I have to tell you, at this point it's hard to believe, but my party, the party that [my family has] belonged to since my great-grandfather, has become no longer a party of principles, but has been hijacked by a confederacy of gangsters who need to take power by whatever means and whatever canards they can."

It was the mainstream leftwing media outlets who called Florida for Gore an hour before the polls closed in the heavily populated Republican panhandle, which analysts such as the polling company John McLaughlin & Associates say resulted in suppression of voters,....costing Bush about 10K votes. Bob Beckel, a Dem strategist, concluded Bush suffered a net loss of about 8K votes in the Panhandle.

This movie today, as well as the media at the time of the election just doesn't know when to end this nonsense full of lies. ....Dirty darn Democrats! tongue.gif mad.gif

Translation.....The movie is based on half truths (lies) that hurt America and support the liberal agenda... Simple as that...

I will never understand why people on the left put their party before their country... Its pretty sick...

You have to keep in mind your dealing with angry stupid people when you deal with anyone left of center...

so I guess its par for the course...
Montrovant
And of course, those 'on the right' are all patriots, putting country before party. They are all astute political minds. They all speak the truth. They are all peaceful and intelligent. Yep, it's just 'the left' that does the bad things. Thank you for the insight.

Your welcome Monty!

I'm sure there is some corruption on the right... But the left is totally corrupt...
